Open Call: Acquisition of artworks by Caribbean creators

October 20 to November 20, 2025

Colección Tropicalia invites artists, artisans and designers from the Caribbean and its diasporas to submit existing works for acquisition. Selected works will become part of the collection’s display across guest suites, residences, and public areas at Tropicalia, a sustainable destination in Miches on the northeastern coast of the Dominican Republic.

This is the first open call issued by the Colección Tropicalia and it’s focused on existing works that are suitable for wall installation and materially resilient in a tropical environment. Eligible submissions include pieces that are part of a limited edition or larger series. While any format or tradition may be reflected in a submitted work, all pieces must meet technical and material criteria detailed on the application page.

The Invitation is open to individuals based in or connected to the Caribbean region, including creators from the Dominican Republic, the island and mainland Caribbean, and the broader Caribbean diaspora.

This initiative is part of Colección Tropicalia’s broader effort to support the region’s creative communities and to reflect the cultural and material diversity of the Caribbean.
